SERP Ranking
SERP (Search Engine Result Page) refers to the pages that display the results of an Internet search. The most related, most useful and most trustworthy indexed web pages will appear higher in the SERP (the first page versus the hundredth page, for example), thus the term SERP Ranking.
It's everybody's goal to get to the first page of a search, but it doesn't happen overnight. An expert Web Developer will use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) theory in order to get your site to its highest potential:
- The content must be unique and not copied from other websites.
- Pages should be clear and contain one topic only, but should never be less than 200 words.
- Your website should be a minimum of five pages.
- The keywords should be focused and, more importantly, should be referenced on each web page with related content.
- If possible, your domain name should include one of your primary keywords.
- “Trustworthy,” from the perspective of a search engine, means longevity. In an era where thousands of pages appear and disappear daily, points are given to pages that have a history of visitor traffic.
- Links from well-established pages will also increase your ranking. Getting “linked to” is an important a part of the overall Internet marketing strategy.
- Be patient, retest using web tracking software and rewrite. Trial and error will help hone in on perfection.
